Why do we only take 15-20, maybe 22 players

when the other guys take 25-30? Forgive my ignorance, but I guess I’m just a little lost on why we always have a smaller class than Alabama or Georgia or SC.

We took 29 last year

Somewhere along the way our classes got very imbalanced. We took 21 in 2026, 14 in 2017, 17 in 2018 and 29 last year.
But we do have less attrition in general than most other big programs. We still lose guys to the NFL and have a few transfers but we rarely have guys being dismissed, flunking off the team, failing to qualify, or transferring en masse. Coaching staff stability and program culture are both huge reasons for that.
