Why does McDonalds not have tomatoes?

For the past 5 months McDonalds has not had tomatos "due to covid 19".

No other restaurants have told me this. Is McDonalds taking advantage of a crisis to save money? Or is there really a tomato shortage that is being driven by the virus?

Don't know. There are plenty of tomatoes at the grocery store.

I think they are probably using that as an excuse to make a few cents more on their burgers. Much like the Florida people using a freeze to jack up the price of orange juice. However, migrants pick most of the oranges and they may not allow them in the groves because of possible virus implications.

If they wanted to make more money they could charge extra for them. I have seen other chains do that.

Tomatoes on burgers doesn't seem to be McD's thing anyway. Not what I think of when I get a burger there.
