“CLEMSONING”

After hearing “Clemsoning” again yesterday at the bank, I was thinking we either need to change the definition or come up with a new moniker. We only “Clemsoned” once in the context that the world has now labeled us with.
Changing the definition of “Clemsoning” would be best, as the label is now well known, but that may be hard to do.
The new moniker should be for knocking off major football powerhouses in FBS bowl games where we are the underdog (i.e. LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma). I'm pretty sure we will continue that trend for the next several years. Problem is we need a new label for being an FBS Bowl powerhouse. Hopefully, we can get to the Playoff bowls in the next couple of years and change the world’s minds on “Clemsoning”.
Any suggestions on how to change the “Clemsoning” label, or to create a new label to stand for WINNING?

is not a thing, it's a figment of ESPN's imagination.

Under Tommy Bowden, it was a legitimate problem. I am hoping Dabo has cured that problem. Time well tell. I am going to tell you now, if by some chance we lose to freaking Ga. Tech this year, I will put Clemsoning back in my vocabulary. I live in Georgia and I hate losing to Ga. Tech worse than I hate losing to the Coots.

I've heard that word from Clemson fans (usually complaining about it) way more than I have from anyone else the last couple of years.

The people who use the term "Clemsoning" are the ones who

blew so many 4th quarter leads that I lost count.
The appropriate response would be to ignore them.

How about we stop talking about it

Only a-holes at ESPN and people who know nothing about sports who listen use that word. So just ignore it and enjoy a FIFTH straight 10 win season.

When someone uses that term one thing is perfectly clear.

Problem is is that it is phoneticly pleasing to the pundits.

Easy to say. So anything that happens to Clemson becomes Clemsoning.
The phrase doesn't work for most state schools because it doesn't sound right.

I used to hear 'pulled a Clemson,' which was used when we lost games we were supposed to win ... like NCSt in 2011, and then the bowl game. It morphed into 'Clemsoning' and it stuck around because of things like, losing to scar repeatedly and being embarrassed by FSU at home.
Apparently, the media needs more than a year or two to re-brand Clemson.

The only way to beat the masses is to stop caring and they move on.

You should have responded with "Cootering". Tennessee and Kentucky say "Hi".
