It also has a ton of great things to offer. Atlanta just flat-out $ucks. Sorry. Not sure what's good about it. Mild winters, I guess? Coke World?

(Also, the most common misperception is that New Yorkers are rude. Yeah, they may not be so friendly to one another, but they're extremely helpful and friendly to tourists. I think most people who visit would agree.)

I've been to both Atlanta and New York City several times, and I vastly prefer NYC. I have yet to find a compelling reason to stay in Atlanta for any extended length of time.
