The old tiger on the scoreboard

Didn't see the thread about this until early this morning (early mountain time anyway), but it was there in 1959 when I went to my first game as a senior in high school. Maybe Old Joe can date it to even earlier.

I agree with the poster who said he liked it as a kid and that his kids liked it. If it goes I will miss it (if I ever get back for another game), but maybe they do come up with something better.

as a kid in the mid 70s. I thought that Tiger was super cool. If it's ever removed I'm gonna be upset. Ha.

I agree. It definitely needs to stay in some form. Modernize it and make it bigger!

I do not think anyone is calling for it to go away.

I would just like to see us create a new, bigger, better one. It can look and do the same thing.

But there is no need to keep the literal tiger. Just make a better one for the next 50-100 years to enjoy!

That's what it looks like to me from the illustrations. It looks larger. They put that old small one up there you will need a drone to see it.

Due tot he expanded size if the scoreboard, it just gets lost now. Time to honor the old Tiger in the museum and have a new, modern animatronic Tiger created..something straight out of an imagineer's mind.

Remember the basketball pregame video from a couple of years ago, where lightning came from the orange and purple sky and brought the bronze tiger statues to life? If our scoreboard Tiger decides to retire I'd like to see a version of those tigers on our new supermegajumbotron.
