The more I think about this deal...

Sep 12, 2012, 8:43 PM

The more I honestly think that Swofford... gulp... is a genius.

ND doesn't get a dime of football revenue and is forced to play 5 ACC teams every year? And they get 1/15 of 20% of our TV deal?

What's the catch?!

The catch?
Notre Dame now becomes more of a player in the new football playoff system.
After all which five teams would you rather play?
(A)Michigan,Ohio State,SoCal,Michigan State,Nebraska!
(B)Maryland,Duke,UNC,N.C STATE,Boston College!

Obvisiously there will be some rotation amongest all the ACC schools, but having to play only 5 means a three year rotation for most of the schools.

Lets see ND will still play Mischigan St., Michigan, USC, and Navy. Then they are on a 3 year schedule with the rest of the ACC that means at best they will play two of the top 5 teams. Doesn't exactly make an easy schedule even if you play duke and pitt in the same season.

an ACC team in a bowl game they get the purse, and the ACC gets nothing. So that could mean the Chic fil a bowl which has about a 3.5 mil payout and ND goes there the ACC gets nothing and our teams move down a notch. Plus each bowl can choose ND over an ACC team if they have 1 loss less than an ACC team. As I see this deal from today it is the one of the most stupid things for the ACC to have done. The ACC is run by a bunch of idoits and that goes for our president as well as every other president that voted for this stupid deal.
