. . . when those thirty-eight years began and loved the fact that they never had back-to-back wins. Who knew that I would be lucky enough to live through and experience one of the golden eras of Clemson football. Blessed am I!!!

mean that those who disagree are grasping at straws.
You guys beat us three in a row and it feels like the world changed for you. We beat you three in a row and we feel like the world is normal. That is still a fact and it will take more than 3 years to change that. Right now, you guys obviously own bragging rights. Thoroughly. Just don't count on the long-term reality of this rivalry changing.
It's no accident we owned you for over 100 years. One coach isn't going to change long-term reality. If we beat you twice in a row then Spurrier goes back to a losing record against Clemson as your coach. Hold on to the present tight. It doesn't last as long as forever.

Patterns and trends do matter. Everybody knows that the hammer beats the nail. Even though the weilder of the hammer (in this extended metaphor that would be the coach) changes, and the type of hammer (players on the team) change, the hammer wins. Sure sometimes the hammer misses and your fingers pay for it. That is a small victory for the nail (USuC), but in the end the nail still knows that it has no chance in the long run.
