Some interesting reading.
"When people speak about race, usually they seem to be referring to skin color and, at the same time, to something more than skin color. This is the legacy of people such as Morton, who developed the “science” of race to suit his own prejudices and got the actual science totally wrong. Science today tells us that the visible differences between peoples are accidents of history. They reflect how our ancestors dealt with sun exposure, and not much else."

Sickle cell exists because it provided an evolutionary advantage against malaria. Nostrils are larger to allow increased cooling through respiration which is an advantage in hotter climates. Darker skin protects against stronger equatorial sunlight. He had about 4 or 5 other examples I can't remember. But I remember the dropped jaws in the lecture class.

Physiologically, black people had stronger thighs, and white people had stronger calves, which explained the jumping discrepancy. Not sure if that’s true or not, but I recall paying attention closely to female Olympians’ calves and thighs to test for accuracy.

I heard someone talking about a global human scorecard a long time ago. Pick various lines of human development and list timelines of their accomplishments and "firsts." The first to develop counting systems, first mathematicians, geometry, calculus, agriculture, first languages, etc. Example: Romans inventing interior water piping and aqueducts. Europe, Mediterranean, Asia, Eskimo, American/western Indians, Eastern Indians, Northern Africa, Africa, etc. Very interesting.
