Tommy Brockermeyer, 5* OL and recently offered by Clemson

Sep 27, 2019, 11:22 AM

says “I just feel so blessed that I’m one of few 2021 kids who is able to receive an offer from Clemson. “There really is no better offer than them so I’m just extremely excited.”

His comment in and of itself will resonate all over the country with both recruits and coach's!

Any idea on our chances or is it too early to tell?

Extreme Texas legacy. So not great.

I heard that as well, but there have been some kids who have made some surprising decisions lately in our favor (Jackson Carman).

If he is an extreme legacy who hasn't pulled the trigger yet, then maybe he is at least weighing his options.

We've got a great shot

Nothing he has said even before the offer sounded like he was a lock to Texas. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he ended up a Tiger.

Snowflake Basher........Out

We have a great chance. Last time he visited, he said if and when Clemson

offered, they’d be in his top schools and probably his top school.

Kweshon....why wouldn't you go ahead and verbal commit then?

Sep 27, 2019, 11:52 AM

Because it's just fun to travel to other colleges and see that they aren't as good as Clemson?

This guy just gives me another reason to root against UT. It would be soooo sweet if he chose Clemson.

That said, Tom Herman is a tireless recruiter. Depending on what makes Brockermeyer and his family tick, it could be a long, hard, down to the wire slog for Dabo & Co to win.

My sole take on this is,

5-star talent doesn't schlepp almost a 1000 miles to simply visit a school they aren't entertaining. More so, it says his folks are behind it.

I don't know that Austin is on anything resembling a fault line, so unless there's fracking in the area, his comments likely registered a 5.0 on the richter! ;) (Yeah...I did!)

The Stakes Are So Very High

Sep 27, 2019, 4:19 PM

You better believe it. The DFW area and Houston are the major recruiting fault lines down here and his comments will be noted by the regional powers.

This will be a lengthy battle and a lot of things can change over the next 6 months as whispers grow and local pressure is exerted. The particular stakes are very high. UT and others realize if Clemson wins this battle, it could portend other significant defections going forward. Because of this, I believe the regional schools would rather lose Brockermeyer to one another than to Clemson.

I would flip out if Clemson became a major recruiting presence down here.
