and voters will only drop a team so far when they lose and likewise only move another team up so far when they win.
But the real problem here is that LSU was ranked #5 in the human polls when S&P+ had them 17th and FPI had them 11th.

Exactly. I mean their signature win over Auburn turns out to be worthless, meanwhile anyone that beats them will get the benefit of that overranking

definitely gotten extremely lucky with weird, fluky bounces this year, many of which have resulted in TDs. They've had some games (Missouri in particular) that were much closer than the final score. Georgia looks really good if you just glance at the final scores of their games, but if you've actually watched those games you should question whether or not they've even been better than Clemson. Georgia's shakiness has been kind of hidden by the fluky defensive TDs and stuff while Clemson's has been in full view a couple of times.
I think the top 4 teams right now are clearly Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, and Georgia with the 2-4 spots being open to debate, but i also think Georgia has the lowest ceiling of the 4 this year.
