I'll be constantly updating the lowest priced ticket on Stubhub (fees included) for the National Championship (looking at a pair of tickets as the criteria):

In about a week you would not be able to buy a ticket for $1,100 even if you wanted to.

Tiger Contractor may be a couple of days early on the prediction but a day or two before the game you want get close to $1100. My guess is they will be higher than Tampa.

Also, ticket prices are below $1100 and it's been a week. It's also a few days before the game and ticket prices are still half of what they were in Tampa.
Just being humble here.

It appears you were right, prices have dropped slightly.
Prices are also half of what they were in Tampa... on gameday and the day before the game. They are still pretty comparable if not still slightly higher than they were for Tampa at this same point midway through the week prior to the game.
I do think it's a little different as by Thursday or Friday, people had to make a decision on Tampa as you had to include travel time. Many people traveled down there without a ticket which increased demand even more as most of those people attempted to find tickets.
Many LSU fans have the ability to wait until Sunday or even Monday morning if they want to, to make that decision. It'd going to be interesting to see what happens come Sunday/Monday.

I appreciate the updates, and you may want to stay humble. Tickets are much more than day of the game price for Tampa, but not for a comparable time. I sold a lower deck end zone seat for Tampa for $800 the Thursday before the game. For Tampa the tickets started going up on Saturday and made it to about $1200 Sunday and then skyrocketed Monday. To me it seems like a similar situation. One team that is established and expects to be there every year and another that is close but whose fans aren't sure when they will have another chance.

Stubhub has more tickets listed than TM. Fans tend to sell on TM because it is the easiest place to sell.
I would guess there are still about 6000 tickets on the secondary market right now.

There are definitely many more tickets available than Tampa, but you don't think there will be thousands of LSU fans showing up to NOLA without tickets also? It's much closer for them, so that allows them to wait longer to buy, and they aren't out as much cash (travel costs) if they end up not getting tickets.
It still seems to me like there will be way more LSU fans in NOLA than there were Clemson fans in Tampa.
It probably helps that it hasn't been 35 years since their last Championship, but this is their first time in the playoff and they seem to be really confident that they're going to win.

too many tickets out there now for it to pop at the end. Brokers are trying to find a bottom to work through some inventory.
My guess is $750 for uppers and $1250 for lowers that will find a lot of buyers.

If I had 20 mil in the bank, I wouldn't spend $1100 on a ticket either. I'd spend $100k on a box and give the tickets to my friends.

buy. I think you will see several hundred listed come Thursday or Friday and prices maybe go $800 or lower on Stubhub (plus fees). By January 8th, that inventory should be gone and it could be interesting. I am inclined to think prices go up from about the 8th through gametime. Not Tampa-like but similar to Alabama-UGA two years ago in ATL.

Clemson already sent their notifications out, but not a lot of people know how to see what they got. The actual tickets are distributed on 2 January via electronic delivery. At that point, they'll get listed on stubhub, etc.
I wonder when LSU will notify. If a bunch of LSU people get notified that they didn't receive tickets, they'll sprint to the aftermarket. That'll cause Tampa 2.0 really fast.
We'll see what happens!
Edit: LSU fans were notified Saturday right before the end of the Peach Bowl. Not sure why there isn't a surge for ticket prices yet.

how many, locations, everything. This is like Tampa in that LSU is not selling. Maybe 1000 hit the market of the 20,000 LSU received. I expect Clemson to have 60000 or so of the 20,000 hit the secondary market but quite a few of those were listed today.
This will be a big ticket. Not Tampa-like but very strong. I think it stays about $1000 the last few days before the game. Time to buy is the next 7-8 days.

Hi Amy. Good to have you back in here. I know you are the expert BUT I see this being a tougher ticket to get than was Tampa in 2016. It in LSU's backyard. They have not been in a game this big in about 20 years. Few of them will have airfare or hotel expenses. That leaves them big money for spend on tickets. My 2 cents.

This is a much-tougher ticket than Tampa. At least now. Tampa was not crazy until 10,000 Clemson fans showed up to Tampa without tickets.
This is a very strong ticket now whereas Tampa was about a $700 ticket at this point. Tampa was a $2000 ticket the day of the game. That will not be true of this game.

If my pair of upper deck tickets will sell for $5000 on the day of the game, I'm likely going to want a watch the game in New Orleans in a bar full of Clemson fans!
Don't fuss at me. I'm only going to sell my $5000 pair of tickets to loyal Clemson fans.... who have $5K. I'm still trying to make up for all those full price tickets I gave away in the 70s, 90s and early 2000s. Besides, there is something nice about watching the Championship game on TV the same way most of my fellow Tiger fans will see the game.

not as many Clemson folks selling as I would have guessed. LSU is simply not going to sell that many. Not sure how many the big broker that controls the market have left but they will be very shrewd in how they release them. It needs to come down in the next 48 hours if it is going to come down.
For clarity, I'm talking about uppers as lowers and clubs should keep coming down. There are just a lot more buyers for $1000 a ticket than there are for $2000 a ticket. If you want the cheapest ticket you can get, check the ticket board here and buy in the next 2-3 days. If you want good seats wait a week.

Closer you get to LSU sideline the more expensive the ticket. But $2000 is still a lot of section 303. I am asking $2000 each for 339 with no takers so far.
Good news for Clemson fans is this is the first game in a very long time it is less expensive to sit on the Clemson sideline than elsewhere in the stadium.

Iptay members who get more tickets than they can used to have to sell the to Clemson fans at face value + 10%. Or Return them to Iptay at face value.

Incorrect. Here are the ticket limits IPTAY sent out for the Natty this year.
1,500+ priority points – no more than 14 tickets
1000-1499 priority points – no more than 12 tickets
750-999 priority points – no more than 10 tickets
500-749 priority points – no more than 8 tickets
250-499 priority points – no more than 6 tickets
65-249 priority points – no more than 4 tickets
1-64 priority points – no more than 2 tickets
Same deal with Tampa... Every IPTAY member who requested tickets got at least a pair. It may not always be this way, but so far it has been. Now had we made the Natty in Atl, or even the Atl Semi this year, I think it would've been a different story.

Tickets got at least 2. They put out the points required to get more than 2.. but did not say the limit to get 2... unless I missed that part.
I'm certainly not a big time donor.. I've only been turned down for post season tickets one time and it was 1 of the acc champ games.

not enough buyers for all of these uppers. Uppers should get to $750 by Friday (plus fees on SH). But people buying and selling without fees should be able to get tickets for $750.
I think that will be the bottom but lowers and Clubs will fall a LOT. Just lots more tickets than buyers right now. That should change come Saturday.

Looks like tickets are falling to me. 850.00 is the get in price on Ticketmaster.

$900 ticket on Ticketmaster + $173.25 service fee + $2.95 processing fee = $1,076
$900 ticket on Stubhub + $265 service fee + $2.50 fulfillment fee = $1,168
Edit: also checked Lunatix. $900 ticket + $207 service charge = $1,107
