A thought provoking series on Amazon Prime this fall...

A new season??

I watched Season 4 the last part of 2019.

For the most part, I enjoyed it and thought it was very well made.

It is being pushed again for those (like me) who did not catch it the first time... Kinda like the Turtledove Alternate History except a little more relevant...

The ending was a little weak - and bleak, but let's face it, the arc of John Smith was not going to have a happy ending - but otherwise, yeah, it was really well done.

Amazing how many movies and series spun off Phillip K. D!ck - his last name, really! - novels and short stories. Total Recall, Blade Runner, Screamers...this one definitely wasn't more than casually based on the Phillip K. novel though, after that they sort of "borrowed" - almost to the point I thought the guy might sue - much of the plotline from Timeline Wars by John Barnes; most of the elements came right out of Patton's Spaceship, the first novel in the series set in...(drum roll) San Francisco in the late '60's in an alternate history in which the Axis won the war.

Still really well done, and I enjoyed it a bunch. And it was a stark warning about the dangers of authoritarianism.
