This committee is a joke!!!

Nov 18, 2014, 7:16 PM

All hail the mighty SEC!!!!!

Im not sure I understand how this works

Nov 18, 2014, 7:35 PM

How can you justify not having FSU #1, I could understand it more when MSU was undefeated too, but FSU is the only major school that is still undefeated (going back to last year) I understand this years team isn't the same team from last year, but they still are winning their games.

Is a loss to a top 5/10 team really worth more than a win over say Wake/NCST?

As much as I (and probably most everyone else) hates FSU, I really cant deny that they simply know how to win.

TCU gets dropped out of the top 4 for a team that just lost. Minnesota loses and doesn't move in the rankings. Clemson gets beat and looks bad doing so - and only drops 3 spots?

I do see your points. I would say, with respect to us, the ranking seems reasonable. We have been very lackluster in most of the wins (not much offense in the games Stoudt has been the QB), and without Watson, we just seem very mediocre. It pains me deeply to say it, too. (I was one who thought we would be just fine this year) We do need an OL to go along with the very good Freshman QB we have, and we need a backup who performs in a more convincing fashion than Stoudt has shown to date. Hopefully we have addressed both issues, but we are looking at 2 years down the road on OL help (very few true Freshman OL are ready to play). I am very frustrated that the OL play continues to drag us down.

We don't have to wait 2 years to have a better offensive line. We are choosing to for some reason. We have a president now that has made it possible for us to sign JUCO players. Now when people say "because you're Clemson" as a negative response to a poor performance/loss, I say yep we are the only school that loves football but won't plug gaps with JUCO players.

Re: Im not sure I understand how this works

Nov 19, 2014, 9:20 AM

Juco's sometimes help, but it can be like putting a band aid where there should be a tourniquet. Our OL problems didn't happen over night. This has long been an ignored area for concern. Also, remember, most JC's went that route due to deficiencies in character, student/study skills, behavior issues, etc. Granted, many, under our program's guidance, can make it, and they do sometimes add a quick, albeit temporary, fix. That may be all we need, since we now are getting some very good quality OL recruit commitments. I am not opposed to us getting help from the JC's, at all.

The Clemson thing could be explained by injuries***

Same thing I said when I saw this.lol

Here is the problem. No one here knows what the complete voting criteria is. It's alot more than wins and losses.

No kidding - maybe only the SEC should play on Saturdays and all other conferences on Friday nights. This SEC thing has gone way too far - to the extent that it will likely have a negative impact on the league. Probably time to abandon conferences altogether and get creative.

Re: FB Update: Clemson ranked in the CFB Top 25 Playoff Rankings

Nov 18, 2014, 7:43 PM

I think these teams are the best 25 teams in CFB but not necessarily in this order.

Any not in here that you would add?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Orange Bowl here we come!

Nov 18, 2014, 7:48 PM

if we went out we are golden. Georgia Tech will lose at least one of the last two games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Orange Bowl here we come!

Nov 18, 2014, 8:13 PM

Unless Georgia Tech makes it to the ACC championship game, they only have one game left and that's against Georgia. Now they should lose, but boy has Georgia been up-and-down. Depends on which Georgia team shows up.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Orange Bowl here we come!

Nov 18, 2014, 10:15 PM

The whole sec east should lose to Ga Tech

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah, I guess GT has 2 weeks to prepare for UGA

Nov 18, 2014, 10:38 PM [ in reply to Re: Orange Bowl here we come! ]

But the game will be in Athens.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Orange Bowl here we come!

Nov 18, 2014, 9:19 PM [ in reply to Orange Bowl here we come! ]

Nope. A loss to UGA is a quality loss, expect them to move up three spots based on how this committee works.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No way that happens - they are not

Nov 18, 2014, 9:23 PM

in the SEC. Now, if UGA loses, they will drop only a couple of spots. Quality losses are for that conference only.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: No way that happens - they are not

Nov 18, 2014, 9:34 PM

Sorry, I disagree. GT has to move up in the top 15 due to a loss to UGA because the SEC needs a win against a highly ranked non-conference opponent. That Boise St, West Virginia bs isn't holding much water anymore.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: No way that happens - they are not

Nov 18, 2014, 9:36 PM

All they need is the three letters SEC to keep them where they are. UGA won't pass the other conference due to the "quality win" premise. They only have themselves to lose to from here on out.

Re: FB Update: Clemson ranked in the CFB Top 25 Playoff Rankings

Nov 18, 2014, 8:13 PM

How the heck are we still ranked in this?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

TCUFU

Nov 18, 2014, 9:12 PM

That is my takeaway from the committee's rankings.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This committee is showing they are worse than we feared

Nov 18, 2014, 9:18 PM

Losses aren't mattering at all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

the committee is showing..

Nov 18, 2014, 9:54 PM

they are a bunch of goofs..lets be real we are no way a top 25 team at the moment..then you factor in miss state remains in after losing a game lets be real the game wasnt as close as the score indicates.meanwhile tcu drops out for winning a close game on the road..so the committee is telling me a loss is better than a win.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: the committee is showing..

Nov 18, 2014, 10:17 PM

They have exposed their agenda. Theyve set it up so if miss beats miss st miss will be back in

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

and watch out for uga sitting at 10

Nov 18, 2014, 10:18 PM

winning the sec title game against a number one bama could sneak them in and keep bama in as well

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They think they are going to bolster the SEC with 4 ACC

Nov 18, 2014, 11:22 PM

teams being ranked headed into those 4 rivalry games. Hope the ACC sweeps and sends a message for itself and the 3 power 5's

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This commitee is screwing up

Nov 19, 2014, 10:52 AM

All they should be doing is consolidating the AP and Coaches Polls.

Their input is only needed if the top 4 in the AP and Coaches Polls don't agree.

See how easy this is:

1 Florida State
2 Alabama
3 Oregon
4 Mississippi State
5 TCU
6 Baylor
7 Ohio State
8 Ole Miss
T9 Georgia
T9 Michigan State
