Top 3 most fun games you have attended

Oct 16, 2015, 11:18 AM

1) Clemson v USuC 2003. Sitting behind the band, listening to them play all #### night with my brother and dad and nothing but Clemson fans at Wilma was amazing.

2) Clemson v Notre Dame 2015. You just had to be there to understand how special that atmosphere really was.

3) Clemson v Miami 2005. This was a tough one but that is still the loudest game I have ever been to. Idc what the recorded db levels say, that was the loudest game I have ever attended.

2. 2013 UGA
3. 2009 FSU

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

81 - Georgia. No tickets, crawled under the fence underneath the scoreboard to get in. One of the few times I've seen Georgia intimidated.

82 - Orange Bowl vs. Nebraska. Bought tickets on the street the next day for the classic Miami/San Diego overtime playoff game the next day.

95 - the coots. For some reason this one sticks out in my mind. Watching Raymond Priester dragging one of the coot DBs 20 yards down the sideline and seeing Taneyhill's last pass intercepted by a Tiger.

That was Emory Smith in 1995 that drug the coot 20 yards.

I was at all 3 of the ones you mentioned

Oct 16, 2015, 11:22 AM

I'd replace 05' Miami with the Peach Bowl against Tennessee

I was there too

Oct 16, 2015, 11:24 AM

Now that you mention the peach bowl, the Miss state game is quite possibly the most annoyed I have ever been at a football game. Those ### cowbells man.

Lucky to have been there. That is the most memorable game to me in my lifetime of 22 years. That put us back on the map.

1. Coots @ Clemson 2000. Catch II. Epic.

2. Clemson @ UNC 2000. Willie to the rescue (4 TDs).

3. Clemson @ NCState 2001. Dantzler passes for 333 and runs for 184. Epic.

I haven't missed a home game sonce 1974. Any game we lost I will not classify as fun--so Clemson 63-17 22-15 over Nebraska 28-24 over Md. at Md. in 1978 for ACC championship-- 1980 over coots-orange pants debut----1983 baloon launch 52-27 over md. i couls go on and on but i will stop there for now.

1) 2005 Miami - I hate we lost but by far the loudest game I've been too.
2) 2009 FSU - I was in the student section singing "We Will Rock You" it was great.
3) 2000 USC - I was young but remember the catch 2 like it was yesterday.
4) 2006 GT - Spiller's double move was possibly the nastiest move I have ever seen.
5) 2015 ND - This was was fun but a little miserable with the weather.

Those are some of my favorites are well though I put FSU in '89 first. Their falls all had these shirts say "the Butler did it". They left unhappy.

The CFA bowl against LSU also ranks pretty high.

LSU at the GA Dome was special...

Oct 16, 2015, 11:44 AM

While not a home game, this game really put us on the map. It was my last game as a student. After the dramatic comeback, it took all of me not to sob during the alma mater haha.

Oct 16, 2015, 12:04 PM

one of the best days of my life that was. Because of the game but also because me and my gf had great day at the Atlanta Zoo during the day and then a great night on the town celebrating new years and the win

My 3 games

Oct 16, 2015, 11:52 AM

I have only attended 61 Clemson games total, so I don't have a deep bank but....

1) 2006 GT - Gameday, beautiful weather, Spiller and Davis go off, and a W!

2) 2004 @ Miami - stayed with a friend who was attending Miami, he was talking a lot of junk and talking about all these parties after the game. Well, after Clemson won in OT, there were no parties.

3)2015 GT - First time my Fiancee attended a college football game. After the game her only question was "When are we coming back?"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: My 3 games

Oct 16, 2015, 11:59 AM

You probably already know this but based on her question after the game of "When do we come back?".... She is definitely a KEEPER!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes she is........

Oct 16, 2015, 12:00 PM

We are looking at going to the Auburn game next year. Closer to Macon, GA than Clemson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Top 3 most fun games you have attended

Oct 16, 2015, 11:57 AM

1) Clemson vs. Notre Dame 1979 in South Bend. Unbelievable! I can still see Billy Lott running to the end zone. More fun after the game watching the arrogant ND fans feeling "lugubrious "

2) Clemson vs. Georgia 1981. Was a freshman in the student section and it was unbelievable! We had no idea what we were headed towards that season...WOW, what a ride!

3) Clemson vs. Nebraska 1982 Orange Bowl/1981 National Championship. All of the emotion and excitement of that one night has sustained me through the frustration of waiting on another special season!

I need to say, due to disability, I haven't been to a Clemson game since 2006 so all of my games are from youth. If I had to rank gams that I've seen on TV.....2013 UGA, 2012 Chick fil a bowl and in 2011 that 3 game stretch against VT, FSU and Auburn were and still are unbelievable! Go Tigers!

Clemson v. SC 1980 - Stood under the tree at the top of the hill watched Willie Underwood with 2 pick sixes. Cocaine George's Heisman year. No he did not score a TD against Clemson.

Clemson v. UGhey - 2013 - In the Student section with my son and his friends. Holy Shiite it was loud!

Clemson v. ND 2015 - Epic

The fun is in getting your #### kicked?

Oct 16, 2015, 12:15 PM

Clemson v FSU 1995:
Pulled our couches out of Lightsey Bridge and started drinking at 7am. Apple Pie shots and lots of Natty light (in the high class long neck bottles of course) with my best friends. Tailgated with a few friends family's and drank better beer. Remember taking a #### next to a port-a-potty because the line was too long. Drank Southern comfort from my flask whilst standing on the hill and screaming my guts out with my closest 80k friends. Game was over before half. Took a nap on the hill from half time to mid-4th quarter (hill was empty due to blow out). Went back to tailgate. Ended up at a Kappa Epsilon Gamma party. Stumbled home with a blonde from New Jersey,. Put in my favorite Pearl Jam CD and passed out before my southern charm won the young lady over.

The Catch II

Oct 16, 2015, 12:56 PM

It wasn't just because we came back against scar. It wasn't because it ripped out the hearts of the coots.

It was because my 4 year-old son at the time was in tears after the field goal when we took the lead. He told his mother and I that he thought Clemson was going to lose - BUT WE WON!

You can't buy moments like that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

3 that I can't believe weren't mentioned...

Oct 16, 2015, 1:08 PM

Since every home game is a party unto itself, I chose 3 road games:

1. Boise Bowl ... it remains one of the most fun road trips ever.

2. 2001 game at GTech. After the raw emotions of 9/11, any game was going to be enjoyable. This one, a road win over a Top 10 Jacket team, became a classic.

3. 2003 in Columbia. For nearly the same reasons. Raw emotion, lip quivering excitement and the ultimate satisfaction of seeing a river of Capon tail lights in the late third quarter.

My list is the same except for your #2. I didn't get to go to the ND game unfortunately. But I would replace it with FSU 2007. It was on labor day and kicked the year off. We dominated the first half and they made it a game in the second, but we pulled it out. That was a very fun game.

Love this topic!

In no particular order of fun:

1) 2003 vs. Florida State - FINALLY getting a win in the Bowden Bowl over the #3 team in the country after a humiliating loss to Wake the week before. Everything about that game was enjoyable, especially marching the goal post to the reflecting pond afterwards.

2) 2000 vs. South Carolina - My first Carolina game as a student included a giant inflatable phallus on the Hill and the Catch II. Need I say more?

3) 2006 vs. Georgia Tech - Our first time hosting Gameday. Perfect weather. All purple uniforms. Calvin Johnson going MIA.
