"The Big 3" at Clemson
Jul 16, 2014, 1:58 PM
|
|
The SEC is about to release an SEC Storied on "The Big 3" at Auburn.
Football: Bo Jackson Basketball: Charles Barkley Baseball: Frank Thomas
Who would your "Big 3" at Clemson be? I'd go with:
Football: Brian Dawkins Basketball: Horace Grant Baseball: Jimmy Key
Here is a list of baseball players as I felt most might need it as a guide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clemson_Tigers_baseball

while your list had better Clemson careers their pro careers pale in comparison to who Swann has on his.

Have to admit, pretty hard for anyone to compete with Auburn's trifecta in terms of prestige.

UCLA's is better than Auburn

Just my take
Bo Jackson is a freak and amazing at all levels. Troy did win 3 Super Bowls.
I love the Big Hurt and I respect how he was one of the first to speak out against steroids, but Jackie Robinson is a pioneer and had several movies made about him.
Sir Charles is a great personality, but Kareem's championships at UCLA and the Lakers makes him tough to bea in this one.

Yeah UCLA's crushes Auburn's IMO. If Barkley wasn't a celebrity commentator I don't think it would even be close.

my favorite baseball player growing up, I have to agree with you. I can't think of many schools that have pro legends in all 3 sports.

It is sad that he got lost in the mix when all those other guys were putting up sick numbers due to PEDs.

What adds to the story is Bo and Sir Charles were on campus together, and The Big Hurt came a year later.

My Big 3 would be:
Football: Fred Biletnikoff
