Feb 7, 2012, 3:50 PM [ in reply to Anybody else think the $13 million will double with the ]

Even with the qddition of Pitt and Cuse, the ne w deal wil lbe severa lmillion less per tema compared to the Big 12, Big 10 and the $EC.

Now...adding teams like Notre Dame and Penn State would likely result in a more significant increase.

I swear...If I hear PSU mentioned again as a viable addition

I might have a heart attack from the Laughter it generates...We have a better chance of hiring Joe Pa as our next commish than the ACC does of poaching PSU from the Big 10...Who is going to take a pay cut to come play ACC Football?

With conference expansion and new nine game conf. schedules

Feb 7, 2012, 4:10 PM

Notre Dame is going to find it increasingly more difficult to schedule games as an independent. Ultimately, they are going to be forced to join a conference.

conference or accept our fate for staying in a Football Mid Major...

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I firmly believe the ACC has the potential.....

Feb 7, 2012, 4:19 PM

to be a great conference in fotball and basketball but not under the leagues current leadership.

Unless Swofford is forced to resign and the league hires a new commissioner with absolutely no ties to any of the member schools, while I would miss some of the natural rivalries we have established over the years, I would fully support a decision by Clemson to search for a new conference home.

You like those pipe dreams don't you? Swofford will go

Feb 7, 2012, 4:25 PM

into the ACC HoF and the new Commish will be just as bad and absolutely have ties to TR...

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The only way to force Swofford out.....

Feb 7, 2012, 4:29 PM

is for schools like FSU, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Miami and Clemson to threaten to leave for other leagues if significant change is not structured.

The loss of Clemson and FSU would be devestating. The loss of GT, VT and Miami as well would put an end to ACC football permanently.

A guy can dream can't he?

is PURE make believe...Fire Swofford? As long as he has the BB vote, he is golden and he is increasing his BB vote with EVERY new addition...

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The football schools in the ACC are ripe for picking.....

Feb 7, 2012, 4:42 PM

We can only hope other leagues realize this and that their attempts to raid the league will enable the schools to back Swofford into a corner.

I tend to agree but for the life of me.....

Feb 7, 2012, 4:57 PM [ in reply to Swofford KNOWS the ACC will be poached...That is why he is ]

I just don't understand why Swofford seems to believe that he can negotiate the same kinds of TV deals for a basketball dominated league that other football dominated leagues are getting. Maybe he doesn't care (which is more likely the case) and I am just giving him WAY too much credit.
