I would hear the argument that Lawrence deserved a spot in New York over Tua, but Lawrence dismantling Bama does not mean he had a more outstanding season than Murray.
Murray was ridiculous this year and he did everything while knowing that he had to score almost every time he touched the ball or his team would lose.
I think there is a better argument for Lawrence as the Davy O'Brien award winner for best QB.
Lawrence is far more talented than Murray but this season Murray was definitely the most outstanding player in college football.
DW got snubbed because he was the best and he had silly numbers.
TL was just the best, and had a loaded team around him that didn't require him to put up video game numbers or make amazing video game style plays.
The Heisman isn't (currently) about the player you'd pick first to anchor a team because they are simply the best, but it's about those outrageous stat filled games where people wonder how a player was able to do that. It's a reason why opposing players walk away saying what TL did was simple, because TL makes it look simple and our offensive philosophy doesn't require him to do the outrageous. We play to our skills and TL is the best pure pocket QB we've had back there.
