I hope Merl Code with Nike isn't the same guy who played for us. He is one of the individuals indicted today.
Also, Louisville could be facing serious trouble, given the fact they are already on probation.

Yeah, it's Merl that played for CU.
I quickly read over the complaints and he's facing money laundering and wire fraud charges. According to the complaints, it appears that coaches at Louisville and Miami requested payments be made to high school students to ensure their commitments. The money was allegedly routed from Adidas to an intermediary company and then on to AAU teams.
It looks like Louisville coach requested 100K to be sent to a player's family.
Miami and Arizona appeared to be bidding for the same player. Arizona, affiliated with Nike, evidently was offering 150K to a player. A coach at Miami evidently reached out to the Adidas people and asked for 150K to match Arizona.
The complaint for Lamont Evans indicated he was looking for bribes while still at SC.

Well it has nothing to do with his tenure at Clemson, its not like he was a coach here during the time of the probe like Evans. He's been busted on a probe going on for alil over a year and just so happened to play at Clemson 20 years ago.....that's about it.
