But yeah, red necks lack sophistication and all and will fight at the drop of a hat, but white trash seems to have always been actively out to get over on folks and cause actual trouble rather than mischief.

Redneck is usually just a noun. White trash is usually an adjective prefacing what you really think of a person, such as “white trash mother ######”. Even if you only say white trash, the rest is hanging out there, unheard but understood.
