Jan 22, 2017, 11:50 AM

Saying...he's lost about 55-60% of his potential earnings right out of the gate what with Coot fans staying away..but good 4 him!

His business is located in Clemson. I think he's safe.

Elsewhere, and you're absolutely right.

That's not the type of rock Coot fans buy so... he's good***

I imagine the hand-painted paw will have to get replaced by our (much better) trademarked logo if it does.

Swinney's Rock or Dabo's Rock?

Jan 22, 2017, 11:15 AM

Where did it come from and why is it significant?

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.

Is there a climbing wall at "Dabo World"?

Jan 22, 2017, 11:52 AM

Well, there will be now.

Talk about your "Five Bomb" ...

Jan 22, 2017, 1:57 PM

once that paw is filled in!! It'll be impressive!

Will IPTAY need to provide additional security for this rock?? Campus constabulary have proven themselves sorely lacking in protecting the "other" rock

Maybe it will be like the rock at TN that they welcome folks to come paint it?

Gotta have a name, for sure.

Back in the 1980's, our Company had a Pet Rock:

Jan 26, 2017, 11:15 AM

It was about the same size as Howard's Rock in DV. Some "enterprising" employees painted it in gloss white with three large black spots on it.

The rock was then located just past the Vehicle Entrance Gate to our facility. A sign denoting what is was was "quietly erected" just behind its location. The sign read"

"BASF Pet Rock Spot"

"Spot" became an instant celebrity on-site. Sometime later, "Spot" was featured in a two-column article in the quarterly newsletter published by our corporate headquarters, complete with interview and a q/a session.

Some time after I retired on 7/31/2004, I learned that "Spot" went for a walk and did not return. The facility managers left his sign up for about six months hoping "Spot" would find his way back, but to no avail.

We think American Hoechst may have had something to do with "Spot" disappearing, as they maintained a location just across the street from us, and was one of our competitors.

Anyone having any knowledge regarding "Spot" is asked to contact the "Rock Helpline" at 1-888-450-5627. A reward of up to $0.19 may be awarded for information leading up to the return of "Spot".
