Carolina has a Thursday night Basketball game a 9 pm in Miami. Wake also has 9pm game in Maryland,( Well, no longer,but during this era they did). Both teams get home from a late flight at 3 am. Wake players have classes on Friday, but UNC players ( based on a report I read this week) have zero classes to attend on Friday. Now, Wake plays UNC on Sunday at 2 pm. The advantages to UNC are many. First, the UNC players can sleep in a couple of extra hours. Second, the UNC players can go watch film on Wake. Third, the rested UNC players can be more attentive at practice.Four, the UNC players can spend that free class time shooting extra free throws on their own time.( I seem to remember that for many years UNC was either first or second in FT shooting)
