We used to have a hockey team in town, and when the other team got a penalty, the PA guy would announce LOUDLY, that the local team was on the power play.
My wife thought it was some secret play and wondered why the PA would tell the other team

Early in our marriage my wife wanted to make a special meal for me. So she found a recipe that looked good to her. One of the ingredients were scallions. She confidently walked over to the meat department and told them them, she’d like some scallions please. They sent her to produce. She had gotten them confused with scallops.

30 years ago I mentioned the word New England. She told me I was making that term up. I insisted it was a real area in the US. She asked me what state it was in. LOL
I need to further explain that my wife is normally pretty sharp with a masters degree and just a few hours of doctorate......much smarter than I am.

Made a comment to my wife that we should tell kids and their friends we put the red dye in our pool so they don’t pee in it.
I’ve never seen her laugh so hard when she realized I believed the dye really exists.
