Clemson fans spend most of their time bickering with opposing fan bases about the merits of a particular game or program, but the past few weeks have seen a seismic shift between fans who consider themselves loyal to a fault and the ones who don’t mind calling out coaches and players when they feel like it merits the criticism. If you don't criticize your team then you don't care about your team. Fans at Clemson are no different than fans from other top 25 teams. They expect success at some point in time. You saw what happened when Watson got hurt in the Georgia Tech game. Cliff Stoudt came in and threw three interceptions and that completely deflated the team and they simply quit competing. So, I think the fans criticism of Cliff Stoudt is fully justified. A head coach is supposed to be a motivator but just Pinocchio in the Geico commercial, Swinney's nose is getting longer and longer.

It just seems if Papa Sweeney doesn't makes the right decisions for the family, we are going to take one as a family before the month is finished. At least we will be a tight knit family when we hear about how beautiful the number 6 is.

I guess that all depends on what you consider better and you wouldn't know that unless you gave Nick some game experience against GA state. He has already demonstrated that he has some skills. Cole is not going to improve and we have no chance of betting the coots with Cole.

Our best option right now is to get Nick some experience against Ga State.

The Tigers beat 4 teams that are on par with SC with Stoudt as QB. Actually statistically speaking all 4 of them are much better than SC. Heck 2 of them had top 10 defenses at the time & Loiusville was #1 at the time.
Now I dont know whether Clemson beats the GameCocks or not with Stoudt or Shueshler or Watson but neither do you. I do know that to sugest they have no chance with Stoudt is just misinformed & wrong

I agree completely. I am glad that Dabo Swinney is our coach and trust him to continue running a very good, clean program with tremendous student athletes who represent Clemson well. I don't always agree with him (I would probably start Schusler this weekend), but I trust that he has better information and professional judgment than me and the many other bozos on this forum. Monday morning quarterbacks are outside the arena. They don't matter. We can all have opinions and this board is here for them to be expressed, but if you're a Tiger fan, then support the team - win or lose.

When someone is down they need support, not condemnation. And Cole has been in the arena and has fought his tail off for us. Get behind him. Pick him up! Don't tear him down.

We all have been disappointed with Cole's performance this year, but anyone that boos our players needs to escorted out of the stadium and taken to the wood shed. This kid has struggled and deserves for the crowd to get behind him on Senior day. These are 18-23 year old kids. Not professionals. Tiger fans need to show their respect for a kid that has bled orange for 4 years. If you are in attendance on Sat please cheer hard for Cole when he is announced.

For the remainder of the year it's all on the players to take the games out of the coaches hands and show how you are suppose to win. Too may times we've seen the leadership ( staff ) choke under pressure. We've seen fear set in and not trusting the players to turn them loose. To me the last game of the year is the one that carries more importance than any other. No other staff has EVER allowed the "chickens" to win 5 in a row. What is wrong with this picture? Why is Dabo and staff continually being out coached? What are these high paid individuals afraid of? Dabo has bowed up and called out the fans and that's ok. Maybe some bowing up needs to be done to see what is really getting in the way. Don't be afraid to turn the players loose, don't be afraid to change, don't be afraid to be unpredictable, don't be afraid to leave it all on the field. If this can't be done.....just get out of the way.

I am a Life Donor on Family Level as well as a member of a Corporate Life Donor Group. In the last 18 years I have paid over 400K in tuition for 3 Nephews and 2 Neices to attend Clemson University. Out of the 5, 1MBA, 1teaching College Level Trig and Statistics, 2 with Engineering Degrees and the last one will Graduate in May 2015, also with a Engineering Degree. I understand Swinney completely but he dont need to forget that just like if it werent for them we wouldnt have a team to cheer for, he needs to remember that with out us they wouldnt have fans, so i think we all have the right to voice our opinions & stress that we as a fan base dont tgink Stoudt is the right QB to play as starter. He is a decent clutch QB as he has showed in the past, but a lousy starter. He cant handle the pressure at all. Thats my whole problem with Stoudt being QB as im sure its the same with other fans too.

Dabo is a feel good players coach. Lets talk about the real issue. Recruiting. We have recruited good qbs but the 2nd level is atrocious. The Chad cannot afford that kind of drop off with a entirely qb controlled offence that depends on being able to stretch the field and run. Stoudt can do neither. Hence th struggling.

SUCK.... in this case, cole stoudt is one of them. no matter how Dabo word-smith the situation, Cole Stoudt sucks on the football field. Deal with it. sick of Dabo's excuses. there is no division 1 school Stoudt could play for and give them a chance to win..... we will struggle against Ga St. we will be in the belk bowl(lol) again as Cole literally has played us out of an orange bowl!

I say let Cole have the first series Saturday and if he does really good let him play some more if not let someone else get some game time. We are likely to need all our resources to beat the chickens. SC is not like Ga.St. and a so so performance against them does not mean that QB can beat SC.

Come on fans...lets get behind Cole and the whole team. Our attitude should be one of support and not tear our team down... to many others are doing that ... so let us support them. Come on Tiger fans if you are for them ...get behind them ... in the good times and bad times. If we want to show them (the team) that we understand that in the game of football there are many variables ... then let us show them we are "ALL IN". I would like to see a lot of signs at the game that says "ALL IN" displayed in the stands..

on Sunday. He is a PROFESSIONAL. And people want to act
like Cole's bad day, is the first event in football history.
Sure I didn't like it, but neither did he, or any of the rest
of us. If he was my son, I would still be standing with him.
When you really mess up, those are the BEST teachable moments.
Learn from those...that brings wisdom and maturity.
By the way, is there a professional who never had multiple picks in a game?
how about a college QB? Well, I looked it up...
There is a 6-way tie for 7 interceptions in a game, AND a
32-way tie for 6 interceptions in a game.
It's a Who's Who, of
high profile QB's. Some are listed more than once.
After that, I didn't even bother with the college ranks.

The choice on Saturday is Cole or Nick. Sorry, but Cole is the best choice by far. An experienced senior versus a guy who's played 30 snaps. It's an easy choice.

The coaches got it right with this one. Cole had a bad day. Otherwise, he's managed things pretty well this season considering all the injuries and such.

Plus with our defense I think we have been much more conservative on offense - knowing that the D would deliver and they have. Ga Tech scored 16 points on offense last Saturday. D played well enough to win. We had two bad plays that killed us. Happens sometimes.

Cole gives us the best chance right now. I'm behind him all the way!!

Can Nick be any worse than we have seen over the past month from Cole? Seriously? 19 yards Saturday. How many snaps did Deshaun have before he took over? Nick is not in the best position to take over, I get it but can he be any worse than Cole? He has thrown 1 td pass. Reality check, Nick at least can match what Cole has done. Why not try? What do we have to lose? I'm telling you right now if Cole starts against South Carolina and we lose, Dabo can not run from it. There will be nowhere to hide. There needs to be serious strategic planning going on.

The precursor to message boards was billboards. No Tiger fan has taken to a billboard to either vent their frustrations or deliver their praise to the program. The intent of these boards is to serve as an outlet for either frustration or praise. Whether you're a fan or a player on the team, probably best to revert back to your class on Internet 101 - just because it's on the 'net, doesn't make it real. And more often than not - the opposite is true. And if you're a fan from another program, it's probably time to find something better to do with your time. Love, Dad.

Cole's play has been lacking & Dabo's defense is weak

This statement is not conjecture. I love and support my family and close friends , but they do not get a free ride and neither do I. Dabo and Chad make too much cash in this BUSINESS to play the "family card" when the team (the Offense) is not performing even at a marginal level.

While I respect Coach Swinney for his recruiting chops, let's not forget that Tommy Bowden had some stellar recruiting classes, and the town of Clemson and the university has been a draw for many young men for many years.

Swinney's defense of Cole seems to me a back-handed swipe at both Cole and our fans. Sooner or later, even the most loyal alumni and fans will recognize and speak up in a situation where the emperor has no clothes. We play one to three games per year when we do not have a significant advantage in the talent of our Tigers vs. the competition ... so I expect to be competitive and not blown out with our 1st game #1 starting senior QB who won our summer QB competition.

As far as those running from their statements in anonymity, I love the town of Clemson and our great university, I support our players who leave it all on the field, and my hat is off to the Defense for the way they have brought it this year. Now let's beat South Carolina without excuses and not change the story to how hurtful our fans are.

I will not boo my team or a single player. They are kids putting their all into this game. I have been a Clemson fan for as long as I can remember in my 45 yrs of life and never Booed my team. Just people like Ron Cherry. I have been known to punch a fan in the face for doing this though. Be classy people. Cole has given us more than we deserve.

I look at it this way. We are a team. You have strengths and weaknesses. You take the good with the bad. We have a strong D Line. One of the best... Are defense as a whole is pretty good. Everyone blames Stoudt. Yea I agree he has made his fair share of mistakes. Don't remind me of the Tech game. But are O Line is horrible at best.Furman has a better O line. But with that said, I may get upset sometimes but I'm always TIGER WIN R LOSE. NOT JUST ONE PLAYERS FAULT...
