my son said his roommate heard them , and as he was walking back to his room atthornhill, a few police cars were there in the neighborhood, looked like some questioning,investigation etc, was going on ...

I don't think it was anything. Maybe a coincidence that my roommate heard a sound and then there were police on the scene. Then again probably not. If I hear anything I'll post it.
