A first for Sammy...he has never been caught from behind...

Oct 26, 2014, 3:32 PM

...on a football field. His words, not mine. However, to my recollection, this would be teh first time that I have seen him caught from behind.

He hasn't played against professionals very long...It won't

AND I think that is the first time that I've seen him do

Oct 27, 2014, 6:22 AM [ in reply to A first for Sammy...he has never been caught from behind... ]

anything like that, very uncharacteristic of him and I highly doubt we ever see him do anything like that again. On a brighter note.....congratulations go to him for having an outstanding rookie career so far!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yikes, hopefully he matures some more after that one.

Oct 26, 2014, 4:02 PM

That was ugly. He's got the potential to be elite, but he stuff like that will keep you from the peak.

Not really like him, he was never one to do much hot-dogging, but he did then and paid for it. Bet we dont see him losing his humility again anytime soon.

Great insight! I'm so glad you are such a knowledgable critic of that which makes players elite. All those dumb things he keeps doing... He might never be elite.

Desean Jackson has done it consistently

Oct 26, 2014, 4:06 PM [ in reply to Yikes, hopefully he matures some more after that one. ]

in HS, college AND the NFL, and he's still getting paid, so whatever.

On point. Seriously. TU

Several were fumbles, too. Bills still scored on that drive.***

That has very little to do with my post. Sammy could do that

Oct 27, 2014, 10:17 AM [ in reply to Desean Jackson has done it consistently ]

every single game and he's still going to get paid, obviously. I'm sure he won't ever do it again, but it was an embarrassing thing he did. Not sure why anyone would deny that. Things like that, if often repeated, are an indication of a flaw in a players competitive mentality. Any hall of fame WR would probably tell you that was a lesson Sammy has to learn. But I bet he never does it again and that it becomes a non-issue. I think Sammy will be elite. He sure was in college.

In case you don't pick up on it, that was sarcasm. He is obviously elite. And, on top of that, the NFL is about putting on a show. I think Sammy will be just fine.

2024 orange level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sammy just underestimated the speed of the NFL DBs.

Oct 26, 2014, 5:14 PM [ in reply to Yikes, hopefully he matures some more after that one. ]

He's not used to being run down on a play like that and clearly thought he could coast on into the end zone. CJ Spiller would've never been close to getting caught on that long run he broke his collar bone on either.

Mature???????

Oct 27, 2014, 5:07 AM

This has nothing to do with maturity, Sammy seen out of the corner of his eye the one guy fall down I don't know if he thought there were only one or if both fell nut thats besides the point. He wasn't high stepping or primetiming it to the end zone, he actually thought the guy(s) fell. Honest mistake....

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

BACK TO THE COOP...

Oct 27, 2014, 8:35 AM

If your definition of "Clemsoning" is 38 receptions for almost 600 yards and 5 touchdowns through the first 8 games of his NFL career, then yes, Sammy is a victim. I am sure he will include it in his speech when he recieves the NFL rookie of the year award.

Re: BACK TO THE COOP...

Oct 27, 2014, 9:55 AM

The coot is jealous b/c of all those coots that entered the draft for this season, most of them had to beg for a free agent try out. And the Texans #1 pick, his hang nail injuries have followed him to the NFL. Will their Clown even earn $5 buck of his #1 pick salary this season. If the Texans would have known what they know now about their Clown. The Bill's would have traded up to the first pick for Sammy, a productive NFL Rookie!!!
