Lee looks to rebuild Clemson's pitching staff in the fall

Monte Lee’s third Clemson baseball team will be young next season, and Lee will depend on freshmen and underclassmen to lead the way.
Lee is 86-41 overall at Clemson, with an ACC Championship, two 40-win seasons and has hosted two NCAA Regionals in his two years with the Tigers. The 2017 season, however, will feature a young roster, especially on the pitching staff.

Pitching wins championships

Not to be cliche but look at any championship team and they have good pitching.

You can have all the best bats in the lineup but it's pretty much impossible to have a lineup that puts 10 on the board every game to cover up lackluster pitching. Not that we're bad just saying you won't outscore everyone because there's going to be those magical nights when a .350 team ba gets shutout

Sorta disagree. You have to overcome bad pitching more often than your pitchers just carry you through the reg/Supers and CWS.
If you don't produce runs agaimst other teams with equal or superior pitching you aren't winning any championship.
In my opinion poor hitting and poor defense cause failure in baseball far more often than great pitching carries you through to championships.

Kind of scary to think about losing our starters. I think everyone knows how things went once we went to the bull pen. Always new guys coming in though. Onward and upward!

Of course we lose all the pitching when we bring all the big bats back. Wish Jackson and Krall were back at least. But overall, I guess it can't hurt to much. Pitching killed us down the stretch, maybe someone new will step up and be a surprise.

We may get off to a slow start next year with a team this young.
Only speculating...
