I has the sad

Aug 3, 2018, 1:32 PM

On the way to lunch. See dog running across street from left to right..we slam on brakes. Car in lane next to us doesn't see him, smacks it going around 40-45mph. Dog rolls up under car. Driver keeps going. Could hear the dog squealing/writhing in pain from at least 100yds up the road.

Please don't share stories like this here ever again. I think I speak for everyone.

I can't imagine the lack of compassion.

Aug 3, 2018, 3:56 PM

I hit a pup who was chasing a pack of dogs one night. The little feller was lagging a good ways behind so I hit the brakes when I saw the pack but most of them were already across the street. I wasn't going but about 40 in a residential zone and didn't slow down much before the road ahead was clear.

The pup came down a steep band and darted right in front of my bumper. I hit the brakes and stopped before the car when 20 feet. I can't say how fast I was going at the time because my foot was on the gas again. He had a broken back. The cops were not far behind me and stopped. My BNL got out of the driver's seat and walked up, pulled his six shooter and put that poor puppy out of his misery.

I was crying. Not just leaking tears I was broken watching that pup suffer. I'm leaking tears thinking about it. I know it's not practical to swerve to miss an animal because the risk to the passengers and you is too great. BUT DAMMMMM!

That's why everyone should have a gun with them.

Aug 3, 2018, 3:48 PM

You never know when you're going to have to put some poor dog down.
