Flooding in SC

Oct 6, 2015, 6:39 PM

Time to set the in-state rivalry aside for a minute.

A lot of Tiger fans that no longer live in or near SC anymore may not realize the extent of the damage there, but the flooding in the midlands(and really, throughout the entire state) is the worst natural disaster since Hurricane Hugo devastated the lowcountry in 1989. If you're able to make even a small donation to any of the worthy organizations that are helping recovery and aid efforts, follow the link below.

I've never seen devastation like this before, and I had just moved here as a pediatric resident right before Hugo hit. Whole neighborhoods simply gone, roads and bridges gone, and cars washed off the roads and submerged everywhere. It will be a long, long time before Columbia (and Charleston, I'm sure) recovers from this.

More have now died in the flood than did in Hugo***
