but you can't backdoor your way into the CFP by playing a paltry four or five game schedule.
Maybe the Big 10 and the Pac 12 can plan a CFP viewing party since none of you will be there.

So the risk to the Big 10 players that resulted in the Big 10's decision to not play this Fall will now magically be less of a risk come Thanksgiving? I can't for the life of me understand their reasoning.

The CFP is not waiting on the Big 10 and/or Pac 12...

The day after the Big 10 and Pac 12 canceled their fall football seasons, the CFP executive director specifically said the the playoff is on and then went-on to announce the dates for its rankings, and reconfirmed the plan is to move forward with a College Football Playoff.
the following are the dates for the CFP poll to be released:
Week 1: Tuesday, Nov. 17
Week 2: Tuesday, Nov. 24
Week 3: Tuesday, Dec. 1
Week 4: Tuesday, Dec. 8
Week 5: Tuesday, Dec. 15
By the time the Bucknets start playing, the CFP will have released two different rankings and O-4-0 State won't be on any of them.
