This is EXACTLY why you should have had a solid state kid.

Jan 15, 2019, 10:48 AM

I know tube kids are retro and all the rage, but solid state kids rarely fail when you least expect them to.

No big deal.

They put them in and then less ear infections. After a few years they fall out on their own.

twice. I had tubes twice as a kid.

Instant relief and fewer ear infections. Kids will be much happier.

Thank God. This kid gets a new ear infection

Jan 15, 2019, 11:04 AM

within 24 hours of getting off of antibiotics from an ear infection. Constantly whiney. Missing a lot of work to take him to the doctor. And can't stand loud noises (not sure if that's from the infections).

I've heard kids are completely different after tubes

So theoretically, youll be at work more now?

Jan 15, 2019, 11:25 AM

Meaning moar shitposts?

Tubes are dangerous and unsafe for children. Same as vaccinating your kids. Autism WILL happen if they get the tubes.

Please forgive me, @IneligibleUser

My middle son is on his 4th set of tubes

Jan 15, 2019, 11:12 AM

After the forst two sets they took out his adnoids as well and that helped tremendously. Anatomicaly he has something different about his ear canals where they don't drain like they should.

Anyway, back to your question. It's really an easy procedure. Your boy will be cranky when he wakes up and will be that way for a day or so, but the change after that is remarkable. Our son acted like a different kid. He was the same as yours sounds to be...constant ear infections and congestion.

Try chiropractic...

Jan 15, 2019, 11:40 AM

I know, snake oil. I've never been to one. Wife goes weekly. Sonof had issues and they wanted to put tubes in. Wife took him to her chiropractor. He's been going to a chiropractor since he was 1 year old and no more ear issues.

YMMV.

I did the same when I was younger (well, i guess my parents

Jan 15, 2019, 11:44 AM

made that call)

regardless, it worked like a charm.

Also, our chiro was my mom's cousin, so everything was in my best interest and not shady, like EVERY OTHER* CHIRO I'VE DEALT WITH SINCE

*which has only been 2. Maybe.

you wont regret it. the worst part is seeing them

get wheeled away by strangers.

be prepared. Our daughter came back mad as a hornet, which I expect was the sedation wearing off.

Don't let the doctor get him hooked on opioids.

Jan 15, 2019, 12:02 PM

You have to watch those guys with your kids.

you can expect a screaming kid when they come out of it and then no more (or much less) ear infections. That's what 'they' say, but both of the twins had them and one of them got MORE infections. The good thing is that my wife got good at seeing them coming from knowing the symptoms and getting one of those lookintheear scopes and could head it off with drops. The drops are way more effective with tubes (at least with this kid), I reckon since the drops can get into the inner ear. ...or something.

Good times main.
