They are no different than our ROTC students. They are commissioned as 2nd Lieutenants upon graduation.

Correct. Some go active duty while others go to the reserves.

The A&M corps is something like 2,000+. Basically if El Cid existed inside of an university of 60k+ students. VT, VMI, Citadel and possibly a few lesser knowns are the only remaining senior military colleges eith corps of cadets outside of the service academies.
