Texans postgame made the point that... in 23 career starts

Sep 9, 2019, 11:38 PM

DW has walked off the field 4 times after taking the lead late, on the road, at the NFL's best... and all 4 the defense has lost it:

at New England
at Seattle
at Philadelphia
at New Orleans

Makes his college days all the sweeter. No place like home.

Texans aren't me team, but feel bad for the offense. I have never liked, ever, a defense that lays back at a critical time. If you played them well during the entire game, keep doing it. The lazy defense allowed this loss to happen.

The Oline played bad too, gave up six sacks***

Just proves my point....and the point of everyone else who seemingly knows football. "Prevent Defense" only PREVENTS the DEFENSE team from winning the game. You don't lay back 25-30 yds with HOF QBs like Brees or Brady etc with 36 sec to go and a time-out. They only need to connect on 2-3 passes and run up and clock it. And they did. And they won. As soon as I saw the D line up on that first play - I looked at my wife and said "Yep the Texans are done - they will lose it."

BV has it figured out. You need to score to win inside 2 min - you gonna be running from your life. The Texans rushed 2 guys after Brees and let him pick them apart. BV mans up and sends the house. And who has more success? BV.

Sooner or later, he will realize the only way to win is for

him to orchestrate those last drives so that virtually NO time is left on the clock after they score. Like in college!
