There are three reasons,
1 - Greed
2 - Front office don't have a clue
3 - Should have fired Fredi Gonzalez 2 years ago
The number three reason has been taken care of and that leaves the first two. Get rid of John Hart and then you solved the problem of the first two.

They traded away a bunch of good players over the last 1.5 years, knowing it would make them a bad team. But they now have the top farm system in baseball as a result.
If they hadn't done what they did, the players would have left anyway, but they would still have one of the worst farm systems in baseball.
Patience, grasshopper. The 90s are making a comeback.

but the post above yours is more likely accurate. A great farm team is of fleeting value if you're not willing to invest to keep them.

During baseball season I come home from work, eat supper and watch the braves. I've been do this or years but they are sooo bad this year it's unwatchable.

There just isn't a can't miss guy in the system. Swanson is a possible future all star but that is more a factor of playing middle infield. There just isn't a Jason Heyward or Andruw Jones or anyone of that likeness that is overwhelming in talent.

Problem is that for years they tried to stockpile pitching in the draft thinking their future value was greater than a position player. And what do they have to show for it?
