Monte you have gotten a pass so far because you have done a good job.
But good is not good enough it’s about time to pick it up.
Need to stop spinning wheels and move ahead a bit.
Next season will be year 4 and just going to the NCAA is not enough.

Our d1 stats are horrible. Very fortunate to have the record we do. Our pitching has been ok. Think this game makes us 1-6 against top 25 teams.

We have a very favorable looking schedule from here on out. We’ll definitely make a regional, probably host a regional with a little luck, a sweep or two in May. That’s not bad... but it’s not acceptable to me for Tigers to just get in or host a regional. Time for some championships and trips to Omaha. Omaha was a staple and we’re starring at close to a decade without a trip.

I really like Monte and have been a big supporter of his. I like his philosophy but sadly our record against top 25 teams (that finish top 25) in 2.5 years coaching is horrendous. Excuses starting to wear thin that said pitcher just had a great night against us etc etc.

acceptance and apathy. Really thought this was an Omaha type team. Still maybe but it seems like something is missing mentally. Like I said, I’m accepting the fact that we might just not have that juice this year.

I've seen it before some nice early wins and everyone here goes nuts but its a long season with lots of twists and turns. You have to power through the bad sometimes to get to playing good ball again

Bingo. All 3 seasons of Monte ball has started that way and it is baseball where you have slumps but what gets me this year 74 is we have a pretty good stat on getting free passes but win or lose we waste it on strike outs where we may have pecked away at runs if we’d put the ball in play.

And looking at strike 3 on a 1-2 count. Frustrating because that’s not Tigers baseball I grew up with. Then again I grew up watching the g o a t BW!
