Perfect more drama, we need more drama....

Feb 11, 2011, 8:31 PM

Things were starting to get slow.

The bigger picture

Feb 11, 2011, 8:50 PM

We're all arguing and obsessing over some kid who can barely read it looks like. Only in America. Got to love it.

Well now we know why Cory Miller was so confident he was

USC bound today.

Very, Very Excited. Very, Very Proud.

Sorry y'all saw fit

Feb 11, 2011, 9:14 PM

to post the story and the link. It's a pretty crappy thing when folks go this far to check into the life of a high school student.

COrrect me if I'm wrong, but isn't he still 17 years old? Dadgum!

You do realize that college also includes education...

Feb 12, 2011, 8:06 AM

Despite what you may think, a college athlete's eligibility is partially based on going to class and passing exams.

I'm sure Clowney will do fine at Clemson, and I'm not worried about that. But this is a completely legitimate topic for discussion.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yeah I'm sure they are real concerned in NY about his grades

Feb 11, 2011, 11:35 PM

this is a bunch of newspaper slimeballs trying to enhance sales for their dying paper. Pretty unseemly stuff

you are 110% right! scumb New York Post.

Re: Yeah I'm sure they are real concerned in NY about his grades

Feb 13, 2011, 9:10 AM

First of all, as stated in the original post, it was the NY Times that covered the story not the Post. Know what you are b1tching about before you start b1tching.

And I can guarantee you that having an article about a South Carolina high school football player who never considered going to a school in the North East would sell ONE subscription to the Times, as for dying sales it's only the 3rd largest circulated printed paper in the country. I don't think a story about Clowney is a make or break for them.

The Civil War is over, time for you people to stop the blind hatred for NY and the NE.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He wanted the extra attention, and now he's getting it

Feb 14, 2011, 9:52 AM [ in reply to Re: Yeah I'm sure they are real concerned in NY about his grades ]

He announces on signing day and this article never comes out. He wants to isolate himself from everyone else. He has to deal with the good and the bad that comes with that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nothing worse than anything with "NY" attached to it

Feb 12, 2011, 3:09 AM

'cause everything from "NY" is perfect and all.....

bunch of buttsuckers..........

Not sure how that coach got his transcript, but FERPA

Feb 12, 2011, 7:38 AM

says hello if it was in relation to Clowney possibly enrolling there.

You cannot disclose someone's educational records without their consent. Wonder why the story showed up on T-Net, too.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

wrong, FERPA allows access to grades beyond parents,

Feb 12, 2011, 2:36 PM

students ... for instance, if an institution has reason to inspect grades before student enrolls, in this case Hargrave and coach.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Get this story off Tigernet? What a bunch of babies

Feb 12, 2011, 2:43 PM

asking this story to be pulled. You take the bad news with the good. Do you really think that some newspaper wasn't going to dig into Clowney's grades as much showboating as the guy has done. The hometown Rock Hill Herald certainly wasn't going to do that, but the New York Times will.

I posed the question two weeks ago was Clowney making a mistake delaying his signing. If indeed his grades are bad then his actions will only shine more light on that fact.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Get this off of TNET!!!!***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Feb 12, 2011, 9:21 AM

Re: Recruit Update: NY Times Investigates Clowney's Grades

Feb 12, 2011, 9:35 AM

If Clemson admits JC then they could never turn down another athlete in the future. Is he worth risking that.
This is not the first article to post how bad is grades are and were.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

State Paper.........

Feb 12, 2011, 11:13 AM

Todays state paper and gogamecocks.com reports Clowney straight A student. so whats up?????

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: State Paper.........

Feb 14, 2011, 10:00 AM

he's a great football player...that's why he has to get scores on the SAT or ACT as well as class grades...I know of one recruit this year who is a straight A student but struggles to break 800 on the new SAT format...the teachers like the kid and know he is a superb athlete so that's how he gets the grades...not saying Clowney's situation is similar, but it could be the case

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I said something the other day about him maybe not

Feb 12, 2011, 10:44 PM

qualifying and I got called a coot. Just saying. Also my comments were all removed.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I said something the other day about him maybe not

Feb 14, 2011, 10:01 AM

rumor has been for some time that Clowney, Dukes, Townsend and Jerrell Adams were marginal at best for qualifying

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

His low grades are more suited in Columbia

Feb 13, 2011, 6:33 AM

This is why I think he'll pick the chickens.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

THE TRUTH WILL COME OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!***
