majored in contract negotiations. See what happens when you go to a school that has no syllabus, no instructor, no record of class meetings, and tutors doing your work for you.

For all of those that like to kick Swofford.....he would have better negotiating power if the so called "power" football programs in the conference (Clemson, FSU, Va Tech, and Miami) would have been something more than average, or just slightly above, in recent years. Hard to hold the TV networks hostage with no bullets in your gun.

If he was actually worried about having football programs he wouldn't have pursued adding Pitt and Syracuse to the conference.

He could easily have had more football clout if he wanted.

BobRoss.....it always goes back to a Swofford mistake, now the expansion of Pitt and Syracuse. The previous expansions were all about football. FSU, VT, and Miami. All three are not nearly what they were before they entered the conference. As I said, those three, and Clemson, were counted on by the league to at least have one amngst them a year to be a serious player on the national stage. That isn't happening. So at this time where expansion is rampant, who did you want the ACC to get? THink anyone in the SEC is coming to the ACC? I don't think so. Ditto the Big Ten. So you basically had to pick from the Big East. Pitt and Syracuse are as good as any of the candidates from that contingent. So just who would you have gotten? What national football power would be attracted to the ACC?

bingo. clemson has been a major underachiever, but let's
