Surprised at all the Herbstriet hate because he picked UGa

Aug 20, 2014, 11:16 AM

Do we as Tiger fans have such low memories? Herbie is pretty much always favoring Clemson, he loves our fanbase and university and he is probably the only ESPN analyst who is always positive towards Clemson.

So he picked UGa this time, whats the big deal? he is now all of a sudden a typical SEC homer. He just like any other analyst have yet to see CS as QB and see the opening game being on the road would be tough for him and a relatively new corp of Clemson receivers. How is that line thinking inconceivable?

Fact is there is a huge unknown for us going into the opening game and I would be really happy if we scrape out a ugly 1 point win on the road to start the season.

All right I will be the first to jump in..... Herbstriet has not always been a big Clemson fan. He used to #### me off regularly. Although the last few years he has opened his eyes and came around. Winning will do that!!!

"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

Nothing wrong with what he said - it IS going to be.....

tough having our first game of the year be in Athens and it is going to be tough going up against their new DC's defensive scheme and it is going to be tough for a green QB like Stoudt to make his first career start in those conditions.

He's being objective. He's not saying we can't win but he made some realistic points. Some people on TigerNet seem to think we're just going to go in there and overpower them and Stoudt's going to have a career day.

I hope we do kick their arses but who knows for sure at this point? Only time will tell.
