Might benefit them actually. Pubs wanted sanctuary cities in VA

for gun rights back when new legislation was being proposed. Im guessing VA and California have different sanctuary laws (I don’t know the full details), but if Pubs want sanctuary cities again in the future to support their agenda, they might not want to challenge them now.

Funding for those states/cities that don’t co-operate with ICE. Not much different than the strongarm defunding tactics they employed to get every state to raise the drinking age to 21.
