Sunday thoughts

Still unsure about this team. On paper, our team is way better than last years, but we haven’t looked dominant like we should. We have looked dominant at times, but we haven’t played a complete game yet.

- I haven’t liked the offensive play calling and substitutions this year. We running down their throats on drives and we went away from it early. Choice and tavien looked good as well. If Etiene gets 20+ touches a game we will see many more 200 yard games. Dude is an absolute beast.

- We substitute WAY too much on offense. I get how important big game experience is. I also understand that our wide receivers have “earned” the right to play. But in crunch time, with your 3rd string QB in, you need to have your WR1’s in. TJ Chase is solid, but why is a 3rd stringer in the game? I wonder if it had to do with the rapport of TJ chase and chase Brice since hey are both 3rd stringers. I also thought that Choice was in the game too much. He did well, but I would like to see more Feaster.

- More Xavier Thomas! He may be our best pass rusher right now! Crazy to think about considering Ferrel is a top 15 pick.

- secondary has been pretty disappointing this year. I think has more to do with our safety’s and LBs in coverage. Too many wide open
recievers

- Oline has been about what I expected. They look bad at times but also look great at times. They are no better or worse than when we won the natty. We can win with them.

- Overall, we don’t have much to complain about as we are 5-0 and relatively healthy. This team has a lot of upside and I can’t wait to see Lawrence get into a good rythm. Once he gets comfortable, our offense will be scary good. To make the playoff we have to win out at this point, and I expect to do that.

It’s hard to say when TL hasn’t been able to play an entire game. I’d like to think we’d crank up the scoring if he’s able to go next week.

Agree with your points. It has been hard to develop any rhythm on Offense with the non-stop rotation of QB, WR's and RB's. And play calling has been average.

I am hopeful Coach Swinney will embrace an Offense that caters to TL's strengths (as opposed to current KB-centric approach), as well as the skill sets of top RB's (ETN and TF) and WR's (Rodgers, Higgins, Ross, Renfrow and Kendrick), and will dedicate the next few weeks to building team chemistry and consistency.

Speaking of KB, what an opportunity he missed yesterday. Just a few days after he bolts, TL goes down in the first half. He could have been the one to lead the team back to victory. He could have been a hero. Had that happened, he would have been carried off the field. Now........from potential hero to heel. As all of us have learned, impulsive decisions are usually not the best ones.
