But I like our chances. GT will be a big pile of poop for at least a few years.

Opening on a Thursday night...

against a conference opponent with a new coach and new schemes.

Thank you John Swofford

If we have to play on a Thursday night

I'd rather do it for the opener than during the middle of the season.

Which should be a huge advantage for us

Their players would be new to this too. And Tech doesn't exactly have talent all over the field like we do ...

I know how dare Swofford give our fanbase an excuse to make it a 5 day labor day weekend.

Exactly. I'm totally cool with it.

All this time I've wanted the early games to be played at night, I forgot to specify Saturday night!

We will utterly destroy them on Thurs night.***

But on a Thursday night? Uggggggh

Been a while since we opened with an ACC game, though.

We opened with FSU a while back and smoked them

and that was BEFORE we got TLAW

I like it. Down time is two days shorter.

Plus, night game.

Plus, extra prep time for Texas A&M.

So did Swofford make sure once the network is launched that even more ACC content will get pushed over to and behind the ESPN+ pay wall? I just know at end of all this I’ll be paying more for IPTAY and tv fees to see my Tigers.

I wonder where I'm going to have to travel to watch it.***

Such garbage to bury the fact we’re playing

Posted: Nov 30, 2018 2:20 PM

A home game on a Thursday night in this press conference.

I wonder when more schedule details will trickle out? They should focus on getting the football schedule out early, like all the other conferences do. For those of us who travel to support our team, we have to handle the logistics. I know this is a foreign concept to the folks in Greensboro...

Freaking ACC.

The schedule comes out in what...January? 7-8 months is not enough time to plan a trip?

Thursday kickoff is better than Thursday week 4.

I’m at 261 consecutive games (and counting)!!!

A banner should run at the bottom of the screen through the first half saying “unfortunately this is as good as we have to offer this year”. August college football is boring and understand this is the game they are using as a magnet to draw subscribers.

I’m shocked it’s not Thursday at noon.

This can't possibly be right. Everyone knows the ACC doesn't announce football schedule until well into the new year.

First Wednesday Parade?

This sets up Clemson to start next season with a conference win and 2 extra days to prepare for Texas A&M (assuming that game is week 2). Save that FCS game for the week before S Carolina...

However, beware the conference network curse: first game on the Big Ten Network was App State over Michigan; 2nd game on SEC Network was Temple at Vanderbilt - the Commodores got drilled by 30.

G Tech will not have the personnel in place for their new scheme. Will not be an issue at all.

The First Friday parade will remain on the first Friday before a Saturday home game.

Oh my. What an absolute tragedy in the making. This could be a match-up of a defending National Champion vs. a team with a new coach. At the end of that game, CLEMSON will give their new coach his first THUMB for five-in-a-row. Welcome to the ACC.

Who at Clemson agreed to that CHIT?***

The Clemson- Gt rivalry is more deserving of Espn main

channel or ABC coverage not a network only a portion of the country will receive unless they are willing to pay for it. The SEC network has proven they show only crappy opponents games like SCAR that aren't on the national stage .

ACC could not get Tigers on weekend - ABC & ESPN has us

NATIONAL MOST EVERY WEEKEND.

after 3 straight CFPs I thought we could say NO to Thursdays

Posted: Nov 30, 2018 8:03 PM

Years ago I thought of Thursdays as great exposure. Well, that’s clearly not necessary anymore. I figured Clemson was in a position to say NO to any more Thursday games.

So.. THAT'S why Johnson retired
