Somebody solve my problem for me!
Feb 19, 2015, 2:36 PM
|
|
I'd like to be able to get pics/vids off of an iPad and/or (Android) phone onto a non-wifi "portable" (read: powered via USB only) hard-drive while out of town this weekend. There will be zero laptops in attendance.
How to do this?
An as usual, I expect to have less of a realistic idea than I do currently thanks to lungey answers.

I'm a bit hesitant to drink something where e coli is part of the brewing process.
But I am beginning to pay them a bit more attention in the store. Curiosity.

As a shortcut, you can use your keyboard to press "Control" and "C" at the same to copy the file, then select "Control" and "V" at the same time to paste it in the new location.

You cannot.

Maybe you could if you were jailbroken and had iFile, but I don't think it can register the harddrive connected to it.
Think you could from Android, but I could be wrong.

be able to access the network drive, which iOS cannot do that I know of. Possibly if jailbroken.
Now if you can access a networked drive through Android, you could move the files to it that way.
I say networked drive because that's what the router with the USB port would do, turn the external harrdrive into a networked drive (like a NAS, or your work servers). Granted, not all routers that have USB ports are capable of doing that, a lot of routers with USB ports only have USB ports to set up the router or install a new firmware, cannot create a networked drive from storage connected to it.
You really just need a laptop for this.
