The Spinx close to me is run by people who couldn't give a chit about the customer. I stop there and pay at the pump sometimes but I do not dare interact with the employees.
The last time I had to go inside I really had to go inside. The moron at the pump had activated the wrong pump when another customer paid inside and I caught the chit end of the deal. I walked inside and tried to straighten it out then the aszhole did it again. The second time I went in I was furious and asked the guy if it was his first day on the job. He wasn't real pleased with me pointing out that he's screwed me up twice and make a dumb comment.
I told him that the part time teenagers working there never made that mistake once much less twice with the same customer. As I said, that was the last time.

I always get a Coke Zero and a Dasani on my way to work. Adds 10 cents to my card every day. I rarely get a fill up that isn't 50 cents off per gallon.
Outside of that QT is superior when it comes to customer service, food selection and the fountain/frozen drink section is definitely fat man approved.

It's a private company that originated in PA a long time ago. They have been migrating South for some time. They're not in SC yet that I know of. Kind of like QT doesn't have a huge presence in NC. The land investment that the stations sit on are as important as the stations themselves I've been told. They jump into a community, sponsor teams, school programs, saturday night race cars, etc. Have their own bakeries for all their food. They've taken over NC to the degree that they built a new bakery/facility in G'boro. Pretty significant operation. Think QT type stores, clean and friendly, decent food, good coffee, encourage you to hang out a while and not just get gas.

miss dearly once we move. I feel like Sphinx is trying to emulate QT.
The free air compressor at the QT close to my house is the most on demand piece of equipment around. I mean there is always somebody at it. I've only seen it out or order one time, which is more than can be said for the pay units.
