Spending habits for Holiday 2020?

Nov 19, 2020, 3:06 PM

About the same?
More than usual?
Less than usual?

Retail is still super hot, but inventories are still declining. This will be a very interesting Holiday. I can’t tell if people are just stuck at home and buying. Buying for a purpose. It seems all over the place. But will people not be prone to buy as they have been buying whatever they want this year anyway......

We shall see. I think we will spend about the same. But that’s partly due to both kids getting their own iPad.

Dad/Stepmom
Mom/Stepdad
Grandma/Grandpa
Brother

I only have 1 set of grandparents that I like, so I make that known by never showing up and by not buying them things. Also telling them that they're shiddy people.

Still single and no kids.

I imagine if I play my cards right, I can get outta this for less than $500.

If there's another shutdown, people will shelter and buy stuff they need and liquor of course, but no crazy gift spending.

Will be buying for fewer people, but may spend more money.

After three years in the wilderness I'm finally working in my chosen field again and making respectable income, so I'll be a bit more generous with presents for the wife this Christmas. Since holiday parties are unlikely I shouldn't have to waste money on white elephant nonsense, so I got that going for me which is nice.

recently adopted spending trends...

kids want a nintendo switch (technically, they each want their own, but F that S)....we've been saying no for a while, but with no real 'big' gift in mind, we might cave....

we don't really go nuts on other family or each other
