Speaking of glands...a little PSA

ever express your dog's scent glands? I'll give ya a hint, there right next to the anoos. Well, I just did over lunch.
MrsSlac says, "SlacDog1 smells awful, what'd she get into?"
LilSlac2 says, "she smells like a bait & tackle shop."
Old Slac thinks to himself, "bet it's the old #### gland"...we're eatin' lunch ya know, didn't wanna gross err'body out. Not something I've frequently done, but having had dogs all my life, something I've come across before.
After lunch, take SlacDog1 to the back porch so I can show both LilSlacs how to handle this smelly situation. SlacDog1 is not the least bit suspicious, she likes being the center of attention, so us all sittin' around with her on the coffee table is no big deal, she only gets concerned when I raise her tail. Use gloves people, this is important, you don't want this stuff gettin' on your person or on anything you wanna keep. Give the glands a gentle squeeze, with paper towels covering the anoos...and squirt!...then SMELL!!!!!!!...then EWWWWWW!!!
Both LilSlacs nearly hurled up their lunch right then and there. Lulz. LilSlac2 fared a little better, he still wants to be a vet when he grows up.
That concludes this little canine maintenance etude. And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

nubs from playing on whatever they play on there, I won't need to pay to get her nails trimmed ever, about the only benefit of having a psychotically active dog.

Yer a doc right? Good thing scent glands evolved into sweat glands in humans and there is no need to express them.
