You'd think a team from Greenville would use something other than the coots interlocking SC on their hats.

I wonder if this isn't at least partially due to Dixie Youth

splitting the player pool. My league was Dixie youth and not little league as were many around the Charleston area.

Does that count? The pitcher was Carly Hoover (ex CU volleyball coaches daughter) who went to Stanford, then i believe transferred to LSU . When they came back, the town had a little parade for them down Main St here a couple blocks from where i live. LL baseball is very popular around here. All the parks are full of ballers from March to mid summer. Miss those good ole days when my son BigAl played for 7 years and seeing all the proud parents.

While little league has grown over the years with many leagues, both boys and girls, the true "little league" we are referring to here are the 11-13 year olds that play in Williamsport, Pa every year. SC has of course also had success on the boys side too at the Big League level winning titles, and the Senior league from Northwood also made the World Series a few years back, but this is a first since '50 for this age group.
