How long until people here stop talking about what a good job VCU is?

Sure, they have a history and it's fairly easy to win there, but they are a stepping stone job if there ever was one. Capel, Smart, Wade, etc.
They can hire great coaches, but they can't keep them.
P.S. I hope Wade fails miserably there, assuming what he said about the Clemson job is true.

If it's anywhere near what he was reportedly asking I'll be glad we passed. If you're going to spend close to three million on a coach he needs a much fuller resume and should have taken a team past the second round of the tourney.

He isn't worth $2.5-$3 million a year at this point. He has done well for sure, but he hasn't won with his own players anywhere.
I thought our supposed offer of $1.75 million plus incentives was very fair.

a Final Four run. If will got that, he has a heck of an agent. Keats went to State for 2.2, and he has a better resume IMO being in staff with Pitino

VCU has always been a stepping stone program going back to Sonny Smith. Nice mid major but unlike a Gonzaga, can't hang on to a coach.
Jury is still out on Shaka, but Grant and Capel failed badly. LSU should be a consistent winner with their recruiting area. But they really haven't been except under Dale Brown
