Has anyone else watched it? It's free On Demand on natgeo. It one the Oscar I believe for best documentary. It has 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. I am terrified of heights so bad, that I can barely watch it. It's insane. Here is the trailer though.

I have to check out Tnet and not watch too closely in certain scenes. I am absolutely terrified of heights. I would rather walk through Compton or a bad neighborhood in Gary Indiana than climb even 100 feet in the air.

Tried to discuss this the other day
Crazy dude, insane movie, GF probably isn’t as bad as displayed, Gil crew insane and ready to watch Valley Uprising to get some history.
Rock climbing isn’t anyth8ng I desire to do, but this doc was awesome.
I equate this to big wave surfing. So glad I only paddle out on my funshape for mediocre waves and don’t have that desire to chase 40 footers

I used to chase maybe 15 footers at certain breaks that weren't as harsh when I was young and surfing every day. That's basically as big as Southern California gets and to still be surfable for anyone. I would pick mellower breaks at that size though. I can't imagine surfing Jaws, Mavericks, Waiamea, or Lacanau or those 40 or 50 footers and maybe even a little bigger. I mean look at this. These dude are nuts.

I'm not sure I could live through much bigger. I haven't been on a surfboard in years now, I'm not sure I could stand up to the washout at Isle of Palms anymore. But...there is no feeling in the world like catching a wave.

and talked about with a couple of people.
it's like she is a groupie who finally got in the scene.
the fact that she was there for the first attempt and he quit, makes it seem like her fault.
he kicks her out for a week and he makes the climb.
my neighbor told me yesterday that the only two times Alex has fallen, she is the one that dropped him.

He says that in the movie, that he never falls and gets injured, yet it happened twice with her in a short time.

I used to go hiking in the back country of Yosemite and I would be scared to even eat lunch or take a sip of water within 20 feet of the side of a cliff or what not. I can't do it. My buddies would get really close to the edge and just relax. I would stay by myself a little a bit away and just check out flowers and butterflies etc etc. I don't see the upside.
