Sometimes, it's OK to quit.

Oct 13, 2015, 11:27 AM

You ever walked with someone who:
- had a terminal illness and was just to tired to fight anymore?
- had increasing dementia and has give up living on their own?
- been a bad marriage that just has no hope in going on?
- been a job that is eating them alive and is killing their soul?

Yeah, I've counseled and been present for people in all the above things and, here's a FACT about life maybe some of you aholes in your 20's don't get yet. Sometimes it's perfectly OK to quit and walk away.

Spur is a trash-talking, egomanic, yes, and I think the game is better off without him in it now but I sure as hell won't call him a quitter and judge him for getting out now.

stress from coaching at a SEC school is a high class problem

My dad told me to never pity people with high class problems.

comparison is baseless. The going got tough, he didn't want to deal with it any more so he left his team and his subordinates to deal with his mess. Captains go down with their ship or are the last ones off.

Don't be mad bro. He's in great shape to be his age

He just saw the dumpster fire that his program had turned into. And what's the easy thing to do? Turn your back and run away as far as you can.

He quit. Plain and simple. He quit on his players, he quit on his coaches, he quit on the administration, he quit on the fans. He got so fed up he decided to take his ball and go home.

Quitter.
