Some Baseball Notes

Oct 28, 2012, 12:09 AM

The first two games of the Orange and Purple have been about as different as possible. Friday's ended 3-2 in 10 and Saturday's was 13-7 in 7. Daniel Gossett pitched 5 scoreless innings on Friday, giving up 2 hits, walking 1 and striking out 6. Like the write-up said, Jackson Campana hit 2 home runs on Saturday and neither one was cheap. The first one flew between the left and center sections of the Chapman Grandstands and the second one bounced off the roof and landed in the parking lot. He also pitched a scoreless inning. I'll have a more complete write-up when it's over.

Thought pitching showed promise--Pep will have more options this year

Need a few big cogs to spin the Leggett wheel.

Attended a couple of fall practices this year. Team is going to have quite a few arms. Offensively we are going to have to heavily count on freshman and sophomores to produce at the plate.
