ACC vs SEC - Big games to begin the season...

Jul 23, 2013, 3:58 PM

8/29 - UNC at South Carolina

8/31 - VT vs Alabama (ATL)

8/31 - Georgia at Clemson

9/7 - Florida at Miami

These are, arguably, 4 of the top 5 ACC schools (FSU) against 4 of the top 5 SEC schools (LSU).

Besides VT vs Bama, they align pretty evenly on where each team finished in their respective conference. Will the ACC go 2-2 in these games? It would certainly help the perception.

ACC will only win won game

Jul 23, 2013, 4:10 PM

and that is the Clemson game. We will have the pressure(presuming we are the last game of the four games) to save face for the ACC.

Miami/UNC are not going to be an SEC calibar. VT sucks and going against BAMA.. I just don't see any of those teams even making a match with the exception of Miami. I think USUCK will kill UNC and so will BAMA..

"Clemson Is Coming" says Stephone Anthony (Class 2011)"
"Why NOT Clemson"
"Why Not Dabo"

safe to say the conference will win all won games***

LOL the ACC going 0-for # against the SEC. Nice prediction scout.

Think VT vs Uscjr. would be a better game***

Unfortunately, not even close

Jul 23, 2013, 4:41 PM

UF offense will be better this year and their defense will be just as good if not better. They are a top 3 caliber team. Miami, not so much.

Not sure about that. They lose 5 starters on O and 6 on D. Not saying they won't be a very good team...but it would be hard to say a defense that returns less than 50% of their starters will improve upon what was a fantastic defense last season.

Also, on the flip side, Miami returns 10 starters on each side of the ball.

Miami has recruited pretty well the past couple of years and Al Golden has done well with much less talent. Catching the Gators in the second week is a huge plus since their veterans can potentially take advantage of the high turnover of UF.

If Miami wins that game, watch out. This could be one of those years where Miami returns to form as the U.

Sorry to keep responding to this message, but I can't edit...

I would like to point out that I hope Miami returns to form as an elite power. College football is better when Miami matters. They're the perfect villain.

I think the u returns to being scary real soon. They are

Jul 23, 2013, 9:32 PM

Getting some good recruits on both lines and now have a coach who will bring much needed discipline to their program. Hard to imagine that they fell off so far with butch Davis leaving and much like Tennessee with fulmer, they ran Coker off because they expected a nc every yr. A program that recruits top 10 consistently like they do will rise back to where they were 10 yrs ago.

Jul 23, 2013, 9:44 PM

Yea, I fully expect them to become a super-team again. Their program is like a ten year storm haha. Every decade years they pop up and become elite for a few years...and by elite, I mean have arguably the best teams of all time haha. Remember that team from 2000-2003? That was, in my opinion, unquestionably the most talented team in history.

SEC Homeroism at its finest. So I guess Louisville is #2?***

Re: ACC vs SEC - Big games to begin the season...

Jul 23, 2013, 4:41 PM

The ACC will split here!!

ACC winners - Miami, Clemson
$EC wimners - Bammer, Usuck

Mark it down.

Go Tigers!!

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So you're saying there's a chance!

Jul 23, 2013, 4:44 PM

I think the ACC going 3-1 is very reasonable.

Fedora has shown himself to be an excellent coach and if UNC can shore up their defense, they can be South Carolina.

Clemson can beat Georgia.

Florida is not very good on offense so Miami's terrible defense isn't in as much trouble as if they played anyone else and their offense is going to be off the charts.

VaTech is supposed to have a stellar defense and should their defense be able to hold its own against Alabama, it would only take Logan Thomas having a 2011 type game to win. This is the most likely game to lose but I do believe there is a shot to pull it out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agree with 3 of the 4 having a chance but vt never starts

Jul 23, 2013, 9:37 PM

Good. Bama could not throw a pass and beat them by 10. Hate to say it from an acc standpoint but I don't think vt will ever get back to where they were.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

One of the very few times I'll be rooting for the Tarholes,

Jul 23, 2013, 5:48 PM

This is one of the very few times I'll be rooting for the "Holes" and the ACC.

Man, it would be sweet if the ACC teams won all of those games to help shut-up the SEC wankfest.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If we root for the ACC, we are just as bad as them.***
